About US

When you are in Greater Parkersburg and you see tourists shopping, dining and sightseeing, a motor coach parked at an area attraction, a competitive sporting event taking place or a convention group staying at a local hotel, chances are the bureau was behind the scenes helping to make it happen.

CVBs realize that no area, regardless of its charm, facilities or other attributes sells itself, so destination marketing organizations around the world continually court leisure travelers, tour groups, meetings and conventions.  It requires a strong, effective and adequately funded bureau to guarantee that the Mid-Ohio Valley remains a destination of choice.

With the majestic Ohio River as a backdrop, we invite you to come escape, discover and play in Greater Parkersburg.  Enjoy the romance and intrigue of Blennerhassett Island Historical State Park, handcrafted artistry at the Parkersburg Art Center, and superb outdoor recreational opportunities at North Bend State Park and Rail Trail.  The area’s rich heritage, much of it involving the early oil and gas industry, is presented at numerous museums and historic areas.

Discover our unique shops that abound with locally produced and other distinctive treasures.   Experience exceptional dining and a vast array of cultural and entertainment venues.  Play at our various outdoor facilities that offer golf, fishing, hiking or biking.  We invite you to escape to Greater Parkersburg for a relaxing and memorable getaway.
