PARKERSBURG, WV (April 21, 2010) – The Greater Parkersburg Convention & Visitors Bureau has lunched its own Facebook Fan Page for visitors and area residence to stay in touch.

People may become fans and followers of the CVB by visiting its website homepage at www.GreaterParkersburg.com and clicking on the Facebook button.

“Facebook is the new email for most people. It keeps you connect with your favorite people and places and offers a great platform for destinations to promote what they offer to the friends and family market and beyond,” Greater Parkersburg CVB President Steve Nicely said. “Facebook sites are a new norm for the majority of tourism related organizations and businesses. We’re curious to see how the fan page grows and the interaction that will take place between us and our visitors.”

The bureau intends to launch a Twitter account later this spring and will also include a quick link for friends, fans and followers to connect to from its website homepage.
