PARKERSBURG, WV (May 5, 2010) – The Greater Parkersburg Convention & Visitors Bureau was recently awarded a gold place finish for its 2010 Visitors Guide to Greater Parkersburg by the international Hermes Creative Awards competition.

Winners were selected from 144 categories in seven forms of media and communication efforts - advertising, publications, marketing/branding, integrated marketing, public relations/communications, electronic media and pro bono. There were more than 3,600 entries from throughout the United States and several countries. Hermes Creative Awards are administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals.

“It is truly a collaborative effort between the CVB and our agency, Stonewall Marketing, to create such a compelling piece, which entices visitors to make Greater Parkersburg a vacation or getaway destination,” CVB President Steve Nicely said. “This award is tangible evidence of the synergy of that partnership.”

The 76-page full-color digest size (5.5” x 8.5”) guide book features information regarding Greater Parkersburg, West Virginia and surrounding communities. The free guide displays a rich design and vibrant color palette that is in tune with the history and heritage of the region. The guide also includes updated listings of area attractions, accommodations, unique shops, special events, restaurants, meeting sites, visitor services, and updated full-color maps.

The annual publication was designed by the bureau’s agency of record, Stonewall Retail Marketing in Marietta, Ohio.
