PARKERSBURG, WV (June 28, 2010) – The Greater Parkersburg Convention & Visitors Bureau recently earned an award by the Public Relations Society of America’s-West Virginia Chapter.

The bureau’s 2009 media kit earned an honorable mention during the chapter’s annual Crystal Awards Gala, which took place in Charleston, W.Va. on June 16. The kit was created by the bureau’s agency of record, Stonewall Retail Marketing of Marietta, Ohio.

“It is a great honor to be recognized by this organization,” Stonewall Retail Marketing PR Manager Kari Thompson said. “This particular award program is based not only on the overall content and design of an entry, but also on its results.”

“The media kit served as a key tool in working with travel writers and news outlets throughout last year, which garnered editorial coverage of this region as a vacation destination. We were able to net a number of articles in regional and national publications,” said Steve Nicely, Greater Parkersburg CVB president.
