Cairo, West Virginia
We will be hiking to Tunnel 13 on the North Bend Rail Trail. Experience the great outdoors with a spice of history mixed in. The trail is flat and easy to walk on, following an old railroad line leading to the North Bend Rail Trail and Tunnel 13. Learn about railroad and local history along with plants and wildlife throughout the hike. Meet at 10:00 a.m. outside at the Nature Center.
Since 1993, National Trails Day has been held annually, the first Saturday of June, to bring attention to our state’s and nation’s trails. Please wear good walking shoes or boots. Consider carrying water or anything else you will need for an hour and a half long hike.
We’ll observe social distancing and take advantage of a great way to start your day and be outdoors.
Reserve lodging online.
