Learn about the children of this famous Blennerhassett Island Family. This program is designed for young people (in grades 3-6) accompanied by parent(s). What were these children’s names and ages, where was their bedroom in the house, and why was one of them nicknamed “Little Snowdrop?” This parent/child educational event includes a Special Mansion Tour and Outdoor Activities. Participants will explore the various rooms of the Mansion from a child’s perspective and learn more about the Blennerhassett children’s parents. At the end of this tour, the youth will compare the Mansion with their own homes to recognize what things are different then and now. They will play some period games that the Blennerhassett children might have played and learn a children’s song from an earlier time. It will be a fun day at Blennerhassett Island. The cost of this one-hour event is $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for kids. Space is limited. It is a rain or shine event. NOTE: You must purchase this Special Tour ticket at Museum before getting on the boat; this tour begins immediately when you arrive on the Island. Call the Park’s Museum at 304-420-4800 if you have questions.
