The Song Colony with Todd Burge takes place inside The Stage Door at 224 Putnam Street in Marietta.

The mission of these monthly workshops is to encourage creation and collaboration. We aim to sustain, expand, and encourage songwriting talent and performance in the Mid-Ohio Valley. You do not have to be musically inclined to participate in this group.

Admission is free, with no tickets needed to attend. Due to limited space, attendees must register in advance by emailing [email protected].

Activities and topics covered often include:

• Songwriting (how to get started, how to eliminate blocks, etc.)
• Developing mentoring (pairing seasoned songwriters with up-and-comers)
• How to write for others
• How to write for yourself
• Song review sessions (writers will bring in songs for positive review)
• Performance technique discussions
• Co-writing songs as a group
