There is an exciting new event coming to Parkersburg the first weekend in May this year.

The event is Vandalia-Con, a convention based on the genre of imaginative fantasy known as Steampunk. Steampunk has its roots in the speculative fiction of such late 19th century authors as Jules Verne and HG Wells. I encourage you to google the term to get a better insight into this interesting world. In addition to being an interesting and educational event, all of the proceeds are slated to go to the West Virginia Breast and Cervical Cancer Creening Program and Bonnie’s Bus, statewide programs that provide patient services for uninsured and underinsured WV women. It’s a great event for a great cause.
