Twinkling Lights

Stroll down Market Street and enjoy beautiful Christmas lights right here in downtown Parkersburg, afterwards have dinner at one of delicious restaurants downtown. Afterward, visit the Parkersburg City Park for the beautiful Holiday in the Park Christmas lights display.

Cozy Holiday Concerts

With the holidays comes those wonderful Christmas music classics we all know and love. The West Virginia Symphony-Orchestra Parkersburg, the Smoot Theatre and the Peoples Bank Theatre up in Marietta, OH all have holiday-themed performances this December.

Family Fun

This December, families have a variety of fun opportunities here in Greater Parkersburg. Discovery World on Market has an ice-skating rink and the Valley Gem Sternwheeler in Marietta, OH is hosting several holiday-themed cruises geared towards kids. Downtown PKB’s Winterfest on Saturday, Dec. 7 is a free family-friendly event with lots of activities geared toward children.

Historical House Tours

Greater Parkersburg is home to a variety of historic house museums, and this December, they’re open for special holiday-themed tours. Tour the beautifully decorated homes of the Julia-Ann Sq Historic District, the largest historic district in the state of West Virginia, enjoy a Christmas open-house at the Henderson Hall plantation and take a Victorian Christmas tour at the Castle historic house museum in Marietta, OH.
