Discovery World on Market is excited for Spring and has lined up exciting hands-on programs and activities for the month of April:
“Sensitive Play Time” will be held on Wednesday, April 3 from 4 – 5:30 pm for parents and children with any type of sensory needs or special accommodations at the museum. April is Autism Awareness Month and Discovery World on Market is partnering with Matheny Motors to offer free sensory kits to hand out to guests in April.
National Robotics Week – April 6 – 14th will be celebrated each day at the museum with various activities.
Maker Mondays – Our Makerspace is a place where children and adults can learn, collaborate and create projects using several types of equipment, resources and knowledge of trained staff. Every other Monday from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. for ages 7 – 12 and again from 5 – 7 p.m. for thirteen and up to adults. Our classes range from $10 to $15 per person.
Tinker Tuesdays – Our Makerspace is a place where children can learn, collaborate and create projects using several types of equipment, resources and knowledge of trained staff. Every other Tuesday from 5 – 7 p.m. children 7 – 12 years of age can register for a class. Our classes range from $10 to $15 per person.
Izzy’s Kids Club – Every month we host a kids only themed “Izzy’s Kids Club” event to immerse children into various STEM themes. This month we will explore the science behind Superheroes on Friday, April 12th from 5 – 7:30 p.m. Cost is $25 per child and pre-registration is required.
Earth Day Celebration – On April 21st Discovery World on Market will host the Wood County Solid Waste Authority and the Forestry Service.
Izzy’s Birthday Party – Join is celebrating our one-year anniversary and Izzy’s Birthday on Saturday, April 27th from 2 – 4 p.m. Cheryl’s Cookies will be provided by Crown Décor and Gifts and various vendors will be set up on our Mezzanine level highlighting their business.
