After another successful event in 2023, the Parkersburg Homecoming is gearing up to bring another one to the Point Park Amphitheater on Friday and Saturday, August 16 & 17. It all kicks off on Friday at 6 p.m. with local artist Talan Chambers followed by Jack & Davis Reid at 6:45 p.m. They are the grandsons of Don Reid of country legends The Statler Brothers.

Friday night entertainment is sponsored by Murray Sheet Metal and United Construction Co. Inc, and headliner will be rising country star Kelsey Hart. He is another TikTok discovery with a current hit song “Life With You” on country charts and climbing.

Saturday’s entertainment is sponsored by Grogg’s Home Services and kicks off the 22^nd Annual Johnny Staats Bluegrass Festival at 4 p.m. with The Good Ol’ Boys, Waverly Run Bluegrass Gospel Band and Johnny Staats & The Delivery Boys. Headlining at 8:30 p.m. will be the multi-aware winning duo Dailey & Vincent, bringing their brand of bluegrass, gospel and country. Fireworks will close at 10 p.m. sponsored by the city of Parkersburg.

“In 1984, the Parkersburg Homecoming started a tradition and history of bringing some of the best national acts that have included The Charlie Daniels Band, George Jones, Brad Paisley, Toby Keith and the list goes on,” stated Homecoming Vice President Chuck Lipps. “But with entertainment prices up and sponsorships down, we do our best to get the best acts we can within our budget.” In addition to entertainment, tickets are now on sale for the annual Rubber Ducky Derby cash drawing, which helps fund entertainment. Other activities include Kid’s Fest on Friday, the grand parade on Saturday and of course, food and fun on both days.
