Parkersburg Homecoming – August 16-17

This free, family-friendly bash is your one-stop shop for summer fun. Carnival rides, yummy food trucks, live entertainment, and even a rubber ducky derby! Top it all off with headlining sets by rising country star Kelsey Hart and bluegrass favorites Dailey & Vincent. It’s a homecoming fit for royalty (or at least royalty-in-the-making)! WV State Honey Festival – August 24-25

Calling all honeybees (and bee-lovers)! This festival is a sweet celebration of all things honey. Learn about the importance of these buzzing pollinators, browse unique craft and food vendors specializing in all things bee-licious, and enjoy some live entertainment. Downtown Throwdown BBQ & Brewfest – August 24

Experience some of the best of West Virginia’s BBQ and craft beer at Downtown Throwdown BBQ & Brewfest! This is Downtown PKB’s premier summer event. Come enjoy West Virginia-made beers, brews and BBQs and some great live entertainment. This year’s entertainment features progressive/Americana/blues band Back Porch Alibi and the genre-spanning Easy Street Band. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the gate. Parkersburg Paddlefest – September 13-14

Big changes are coming to Greater Parkersburg CVB’s Paddlefest. This year the event will be hosted by local kayak rental business Wild River Kayak Co. with the CVB acting as a sponsor. The new Parkersburg Paddlefest plans to keep the same traditions with the Friday night glow paddle and the Saturday morning paddle to Blennerhassett Island Historical State Park. Harvest Moon Festival – September 21-22

Cooler weather, even cooler crafts. The Harvest Moon Arts & Crafts Festival is an annual craft show that showcases local artisans and crafters, with craft demonstrations, quality food and great live entertainment. Volcano Days – September 27-29

Celebrate history at the annual Volcano Days festival. Volcano Days commemorates the oil boomtown that burned down in 1879. Enjoy one-of-a-kind antique engine displays from the Wood County Flywheelers, historical lectures, a wood mizer, corn meal grinding, blacksmith demonstrations and large assortment of craft and antique vendors highlighted by amazing local food trucks.
